Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիեւը հայտարարել է, թե «սահմանին Հայաստանի զինված ուժերի կողմից իրականացված սադրանքը չպետք է անպատասխան մնար»:
Ալիևը նաև սպառնալիքներ է հնչեցրել Հայաստանի հասցեին. «Եթե մենք տեսնենք չնչին սպառնալիք` ուղղված մեր ժողովրդի և պետության անվտանգությանը, անմիջապես կոչնչացնենք թշնամուն»:
Ադրբեջանի ղեկավարը հավաստիացրել է նաև, որ Ադրբեջանը շարունակելու է ամրապնդել իր սահմանը:
«Ոչ ոք չի կարող մեզ վրա ճնշում գործադրել, ոչ ոք չի կարող ազդել մեզ վրա: Հիմա որոշ հայամետ երկրներ ու շրջանակներ ինչ-որ հայտարարություններ են անում: Թող դա անեն, դա իրենց գործն է: Եվրախորհրդարանը հերթական անգամ բանաձեւ է ընդունել՝ հիմնված կեղծ փաստերի վրա: Ես դրան ուշադրություն չեմ դարձնում և ձեզ էլ խորհուրդ չեմ տալիս: Սրանք բոլորը մանրուքներ են: Կարևորն այն է, որ մենք այսօր այստեղ ենք, մենք կանգնած ենք այստեղ և հավերժ կապրենք այստեղ», – ասել է Ալիևը:
Ալիևի խոսքով` 44-օրյա պատերազմը և հետպատերազմյան շրջանը մեկ անգամ ևս ցույց տվեցին, թե ով ով է, և ով ինչի է ընդունակ:
«Մենք մեզ համար շատ հարցեր հստակեցրել ենք, հատկապես միջազգային մակարդակում, և դա կօգնի մեզ հետագայում ճիշտ որոշումներ կայացնել»,- ասել է Ադրբեջանի նախագահը:.
