Մարտի 11-ին, տեղական ժամանակով ժամը 09:46-ին (Գրինվիչի ժամանակով’ ժամը 05:46-ին) ՀՀ ԱԻՆ Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության տարածքային ծառայության սեյսմոլոգիական ցանցի կողմից գրանցվել է

հյուսիսային լայնության 38.56⁰ և արևելյան երկայնության 45.11⁰ աշխարհագրական կոորդինատներով’ Իրան’ Խոյ քաղաքից 14 կմ հյուսիս-արևելք, օջախի 10 կմ խորությամբ, 4.3 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ։

Էպիկենտրոնային գոտում ստորգետնյա ցնցման ուժգնությունը կազմել է 5-6 բալ: Երկրաշարժի էպիկենտրոնը գտնվել է ՀՀ պետական սահմանից 95 կմ հեռավորության վրա։

Երկրաշարժը զգացվել է Սյունիքի մարզի’ Ագարակ, Մեղի, Քաջարան, Կապան, Գորիս և Սիսիան քաղաքներում’ 2-3 բալ ուժգնությամբ:
